smena 8m; shutter problem

hello everyone!

has anyone ever tried to dismantle and repair their shutter?

i just got a smena 8m yesterday, and i dropped my bag with it inside. to my horror, the pin which prevents you from taking out the entire front lens 'broke' off.

so i itchy-handedly opened it up trying to fix it. and yes, i killed the shutter by accident.

the shutter speeds were a-okay when i got the cam. but as i opened it, the spring on the shutter 'popped' out. so now the shutter speeds don't work (though it still fires).

1) does anyone have any idea how to rectify (where does the spring go?) the problem?
2) does anyone have a smena you want to let go off for spare parts?
3) if the above two don't work, any ideas on how i can convert it into a pinhole cam? (i've got a few ideas already, i'm just curious if anyone here has tried it with a smena before).

thankssss.

:)

anyone???

sigh, i think i'll just convert it into a pinhole cam.

i tried 'repairing' the shutter last night, but yah, it got worse.

the only way i can shoot now is with a shutter release cable. hahaha.

i'll post some pics when i'm done with the mod.

anyway, does the distance from the pinhole to the film make any difference in the image obtained?

i've done the mod!

will upload some pics tomorrow!

i now have a smena pinhole cam! :)

anyway, what should the exposure time(s) be if my pinhole was made by a regular needle (duh) and i'm using ISO 200 film (assuming it's a nice sunny day outdoors)?

thanks!

i'm itching to try it out.
