Was trying photography style of a Japanese photographer Ninagawa Mika. :)

Took some of these flowers from fort canning and SBG, but till now I am still unable to ID them. Would be nice if someone can ID them.

thanks for your comment. ^___^

adjust the color balance to get the ideal colors. give it more blue to achieve the blue background.

Those are not the right colors, anyway the flowers are peacock flowers

Caesalpinia pulcherrima
Family: Fabaceae/Leguminosae (bean family)
Common Names: peacock flower, Barbados pride, dwarf poinciana, Barbados flower-fence

Have seen it as yellow and red colors in SBG not florescent PINK though

i think the main focus of this style is to create that abstract, surreal feel, rather than to reflect the actual colours. :)

Went to see Mika's website liow, interesting concept! Has a certain Lomo feel to it! I think you have emulated the style pretty well, tho perhaps less cluttered background will make the pictures even stronger -- simpler subjects often make stronger photos, in my humble opinion!

Like it! Might try it one day too! ;)

these are the original colors. :)

thanks for your ID-ing. but after running a check of the species below

Caesalpinia pulcherrima
Family: Fabaceae/Leguminosae (bean family)
Common Names: peacock flower, Barbados pride, dwarf poinciana, Barbados flower-fence

shouldn't the flower be this one instead? or they belong to the same family?

There's the internet... search.

weee.. thanks for the link. i've found the identity of the plant.

Family Name : Verbenaceae
Common Name : Java Glorybower
Synonym : Clerodendrum fallax, Clerodendrum speciosissimum
Origin : Malaysia

I do agree with Ying Ling about less cluttered bg.
Pick out one aesthetic looking flower,
isolate it with a clean bg and viola....
a flower that stands out. ;)

You might want to look at this guy's flower photography
