It has been on my mind for awhile. In this day & age of supersonic jets and quick getaways, I had been toying with the idea of slow travel. To explore by train seemed to dovetail very much with the spirit of adventure and film photography. The recent news that the KTM train station in Tanjong Pagar will close in July this year jolted me out of my inertia. My goal was SG to BKK by train but I haven't been on the train in ages so decided to organise a short exploratory day trip on the train with some of the RFF folks.
The day trip destination was Kluang. A comfortable 2 hour plus journey each way with many trains stopping at the Kluang station on the way back. My companions were RWC and HOC. Itinerary? None. We sort of read up a little and I had some tips by Zoomp but we all decided to just go where our feet took us.
My gear:
Olympus 35SP, with Trix @ 200
Rolleiflex, with TriX @ 400
Hexar AF, with Fujicolor Pro 160S
iPhone, my only digital camera on the trip
- Both TriX rolls were developed with Diafine 3+3
- Yes, no Leica
This will soon be a thing of the past...
so HOC readily posed with his newly arrived, newly polished 1935 Leica Standard.
Chirpy companions before they dozed off =)
Noisy companions...they never dozed off =(
He couldn't fall asleep.
