It's still cheaper by about USD600 compared to the Nikon VRII equivalent.

But yeah - I was really hoping that the Sigma unit would had been cheaper than the USD1.7K they're asking.

Waiting for reviews to see how this lens perform.. Hopefully it can pull some fights at least to the 70-200 VR1.. else a used 70-200VR1 is a much better buy

please aware this baby is weight almost 1970g compare to nikon 1530g & Canon 1470g

Hi steven68, that's about the price in sin.
Today have tested the lens with my 60D on METTLE GAMES SG2010 Wakeboarding event, AF is fast and accurate. Some of my humble sample is post on Reportage and Sports - Mettle games sg2010. Most of the picture taken with 1/2000, F11, ISO200. No PS on sharpness etc, just crop and re-size..
Wanted to shoot Drifting with it but end up playing with the 1DMKIV and EF200F2L offer by Canon, AF is damn fast and good so is the price tag :lovegrin:

All Bros, my friend just got this lens a week ago from Hong Kong @ HKD 10,300 - HKD 1500 cheaper than mine . IMO, is worth to fly there in budget airline do some shopping still much cheaper than getting it here. Tested his copy, is as sharp, fast focus as mine :thumbsup:

He got the original sigma warranty card (with sigma Laser seal) receipt etc that requires by Sigma, Sin for international warranty cover.
