Sigma announcement of 9 Art lenses for Sony FE e-mount is exciting but also troubling.
Looks like In their haste, Sigma has adopted Samyang's earlier strategy of adding a spacer to existing DSLR lenses for Nikon and Canon. The result is an unnecessarily long lens that is roughly equal to the F/EF Art version plus an FE lens mount adapter.
Samyang eventually re-engineered much smaller lenses for E-mount so there is hope yet for Sigma to do likewise.
