I ever covered a piano concert at Esplanade. Using a D70, I only dare to press shutter while the music is loud. I felt so embarassed inside the quiet concert hall. :embrass:
...CP's price for DA10-17 sux leh... $730...
For DA10-17, see how lar... Probably wait for:
a) Price drop (I wish)
b) Someone go to/come back from US
c) My Japan trip
d) MO from B&H...
The lowest I've come across in SG for this lens was $690 (March).
Actually prices in the US isn't that cheap unless you have someone there to receive the $100 rebate (so it becomes ~US$399 instead of US$499). Still the savings isn't all that substantial. Also US pentax lenses are warranted in US only, don't think its convertible to International warranty there.
Somebody (Vulpix0r?) is selling a 10-17mm in the B&S section. If you want it, might as well unload it from him :bsmilie: Next month on things may just get a littttle more expensive thanks to NETS and GST.

is the quality much better than the kit lens?
does this FF and BF error occur even for good copy?
how bad is the error? are the photos affected still usable for normal viewing?
is it good for indoor shots?
hi, my personal experience with the lens on my konica minolta 5d -
at 17mm, the AF is a bit off....either FF or BF, so wat i do is zoom to 70mm, focus (where the AF focuses correctly), and pull back to 17mm and take the photo
however, i am still pretty happy with this lens, serves my shooting purpose a lot, dun think will be selling anytime soon

is this FF or BF pretty obvious for taking group photo? cos if i pass my camera to someone else to take the shot, it would be quite difficult for me to explain the correction technique to him/her :bsmilie:
what is the next widest length that the focus is accurate?
