I sold off my Instax 210 and got a 10 year old Fuji Instax AF500.

the exposure counter isn't working but everything else works.

Difference between this AF500 and the popular Instax 210:

+ Close focuses to 0.6m automatically
+ Flash can be turned off and long shutter speed is used
+ Autofocus instead of zone focus on the 210. Allows Focus Lock and Recompose.
+ Smaller than the 210
+ Timer with Tripod. This cannot be overstated: Critical for Long Exposure without flash
+ Shutter speed 1/8 to 1/125
- No longer produced and no warranty
- Uses CR123 instead of stand AA batteries
- No preview unlike the Instax 50s (different film Mini Instax)

two examples of 500af with flash being turned off.

normal exposure would be iso 400 and 1/30 and f2 or f2.8

That's one lovely camera :D Just curious, it uses the same film as the 210?

Yeah...it uses the Instax Wide format and the same as the 210.

After using it for a week (and around 30 pix!), here are my obervsations:

* the focusing in close range is better than the 210.
* it really makes women look nicer, can't explain it
* the flash is quite intelligent, not as washed out like
Yasumasa Yonehara's fashion pix but
with a right amount of saturation.
* EV compensation works even for flash

(excuse the crappy bb camera)

Glad that you found this gem! The only instax camera that can AF. I like the fact that you can off the flash. When I shoot outdoors with flash off, the colours of instax film is has a really rich feel to it.

Looking at the Controversial photo of Bijou.
Brassai Exhibition.
Took this pix before Security
Guard said "No Photography!"

I guess i should share some of mine too!

This is my beloved Polaroid Land 250, i got it off the Buy and Sell on Clubsnap a few months ago.
I have to say, it really works like charm despite of it's age.

This Polaroid works really well with B&W film such as the FP3000B which is currently my favourite film.
With the higher ISO of the film, the FP3000B is really the choice for indoor shoots and basically any situation where you unsure which film to use.

Here are some shots with the FP100C , which is a Colour Film.

Thanks to the blessed tripod mount, i can do long exposures too!

I really really apologize for the dust and the lopsided scans ):
I'll do my best to prevent that from occurring again. SO SORRY!

I guess the Pros of this camera is that..

-It has Rangefinder Focusing!!!! (i'm a huge fan of this)
-Film is still readily available and produced by Fujifilm
-It has a tripod mount (I love my long exposures)
-Metal body (feels more solid and secure to hold)
-It's technically a full automatic camera.

The Cons are...

-Slightly bulky (But i love my huge cameras so...)
-Films are not cheap!

I love my Polaroid to death.
Cheers!

Mark.

I like instant cameras too. The instant gratification is good. No hassles of developing, printing or scanning. Just get the picture out immediately and start sharing among friends and family. Trying a few formats of instant to understand more of different format's advantages and short comings. Imo, the integral film has brought out the true essence of the kodak moment.

I'm not too sure if it's really grainy but i'm pretty comfortable with it, so i didn't really notice. Sorry bout that!
I got my film at Chiif Cameras. Thinking of buying them in packs of 5 from Amazon since it seems cheaper.

Just to chimp in a bit, the FP3000B film does not have the grain we see like 35mm film as it is a 1:1 image. The contrast is slightly on the high side, but not as high as compared to pushing TX to 1600.

All done using the Mamiya Universal and Fuji FP3000B Instant film
