Was at Sentosa last Sunday to watch the grand final with my K10D and DA50-200mm lens. The entry tickets are free of charge if you sent two of your beach volley play photos to the organiser. ^o^
I would say that taking sports shots will be a shutter count burst, as I shot a total of 800+ in just 2 hours time...And it would be better to take good cover of not only the camera but also yourself, the sunshine is strong enough to "burn" the skin. Two days later, I still do not dare to touch my red look hands, face and neck...

Okay, enough talk, now let's the photos to speak:

Nice shots bro:thumbsup:

Some words about the game itself: it is pitty that the China team lost to the Brazil team in the grand final, but another China team managed to beat the Brazil team in the 3rd place competition. So the top 4 teams are:
1.Brazil 2.China 3.China 4.Brazil. (Different player composition)

Now some photos beside the game ;p

That is the end.
Hope you guys enjoy and hope it can proof that not only White "L" Canons are capable of taking sports shots. ^^

good lens and camera and good snaps.
but the background is too messy. if you can shoot top-down(beach as background), it will be nicer, I feel.

thanks bro for your suggestions.
I think most of the photos are taken with f/8 in aperture, that could explain why the background are too messy...i still lack of experience in using this tele-zoom lens which is not my major shooting range.
and due to my sitting position, this is already the best i can do. cannot say too much for a free of charge seat right?:bsmilie:

Nice coverage, and thanks for sharing.

I can see that you might get some even better ones by using a faster 200mm or 300mm lens on most shots. By my own expriences, a tighter crop will be better for action photos. Try to capture something like these:

Still, given such circumstance, these are very nice action photos. I did see the final on TV, glad I can see some real photos here too ;)

Cheers!

thanks fengwei for giving the advice. a faster long zoom lens will certainly do the job, but they are way too expensive to invest, and really hard to find in the pentax market.
