There are a lot of people (many foriegners) shopping at Tin Cheung during weekends! This shop have many grey products (I recently bought a grey 580EX from there... S$600). Anyway I think their B+W filters are very cheap too :)

Never been to Shanghai so I am not sure.

If we go to the shop directly, do we get cheaper price than it's quoted on the website??

So meaning, they provide options either grey sets or local warrantied sets?

Never bought any local lens set from them, so I am not sure. They definately don't stock local Sigma lenses though.

If you are looking to buy local lens, you can try http://www.dcfever.com located at Mong Kok. :)

Those grey sets might have international warranty, but then I think you might need the original receipt which should be stamped by say, Japan instead. So if you have a HK set which have international warranty, you need the HK receipt.

I don't mind getting grey sets since I am not residing in HK neither.
But then I assume grey sets must be cheaper than HK local sets.
Where's Mong Kok anyway.... still in HK? pardon me for my ignorance. :embrass:

I recently enquired about the Sigma 10-20mm. The grey one is about S$50 cheaper than the HK sets.

The thing is I am not sure if say, Canon Singapore will accept your warranty status if you have a Japan International Warranty card but a HK receipt. But I guess they probably won't..

I guess local sets with international warranty would be the safer choice. However, some things like filters, tripods, you can consider buying from Tin Cheung.

Mong Kok is like the Orchard Road of HK :D

Great! thanx for the info, bro!!

Should qualify my statement. Camera equipment is not cheap, but some accessories, like bags and tripods can be found quite cheap - but beware - you get what you pay for.

the price is about 15-20% cheaper.. but i'm not sure about the warrenty..

I have not check the price in Shanghai but I do not think they will be cheap as foreign imported good will be subjected to 10-20% import tax (depending on type of goods) and another 17% value added tax.

Regards

HK: I prefer WING SHING in HK Mongkok to TIN CHEUNG in TST.

Wing Shing is a bit like Cathay Photo. When I was there last week, Wing Shing had about 20 customers (weekday 4pm) but there was not a single customer at Tin Cheung (1 hour later) - WHY? my experience is that they always try to get you somehow.
