Hi! Can anyone advise on the rates for cleaning service of dynax at KM centre at Funan? How long does it take and what is the procedure like? Thanks for sharing.

I have send about 2-3 lens for cleaning by them before, price ranges from $30-60. The result varies, sometimes very clean, sometimes so-so. I am no expert in what is possible and what is not, so I have no idea if someone else could have done a much job. It is not very fast though, usually at least a week, but could be faster at times.....

Hi, may I know what does it mean by "sometimes very clean, sometimes so-so"? I thought its either clean or not clean?? :think:

Hey frisky, colin is right yeah...... it's either clean or its not clean... semantically impossible to have something in between clean and not clean.....

ermmm....I clean my own body lah... ;p :bsmilie:

okok, serious now lah...

Usually a general service includes general cleaning of the "body" outside, clean mirror, clean viewfinder, clean screen, checking of the focusing, clean sub-mirror, exposure checking and calibration if it's not with-in the tolerance...

overhaul is more siong lah, it includes stripping the main circuit board, and prism to clean.....shutter oiling and recalibration....

Did you possibly sent in lenses for cleaning that had fungus? If so, fungus may not be able to be cleaned off completely, resulting in some 'disappointedly' cleaning results, a.k.a. 'so-so cleanliness'.....
