As for the tamron teleconverter, TMC might be right on the new one can mount with AFS 70-200. But I'm sure and he is right that the old one can't because of the Protruding rear elements on the tamron teleconverter.

The 70-200VR back element is inside about 1". Even there is a light protrude on the TC it might be ok.

As I mentioned, I can't bother with Sigma's stuff and now you come and urgue with me on Tamron! There are always original Nikon TCs around with all ranges, 1.4x, 1.7x, 2.0x. Why would one who can afford a 70-200VR settles on lower quality TCs. It is just like someone uses expensive DSLR bodies but cannot afford to buy original batteries and at the end of the day, explode the camera with 3rd party batteries and void all warranty.

That is one reason why I am angry as you keeps pushing your point through... it is totally irrelevant here.

When did I keep pushing? I only merely mentioned about the lens flare and it just happened that I talked about 3rd party teleconverters that is/not able to mount on AFS 80-200 and the 70-200, thats all I'm talking about. And thats how the whole conversation/arguments starts.

AF-S 80-200 - comfirm no new stock, unless for 2H.
120-300 sigma - over yr budget.
AF-S 300 - can consider.

was in S mode all the time lah....although my flash is hot thru out when the VIP arrived. I only coolpix user leh, just now got D2X, 1D series photographers too. So i capture all those other moments when they are busy firing at one place...don't want to squeeze with them.

Still got lots to learn, may have a couple of events to shoot in Dec. till March 06. hmmm....waiting for all the PROs here to teach me leh....

70-200VR f/2.8... My selling price is $2820 with full warranty + *extra*. Get a Nikon TC1.7, you'd have a 510mm f/4.8 on a 1.5x crop body.

Image quality using the TC1.7x do not drop that much. But these 2items will blow your $3K budget.
