Searching for a Female Nude Model

Hi,

I'm a pro freelance photographer looking to enhance my skills and build my portfolio of nude female models. I used to live in Hawaii where I worked with a wide variety of female models doing nude, swim wear and lingerie shoots but since living here, I have found it difficult to find a willing and open female model to pose. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.

found it difficult to find models? how much r u willing to pay?

I have a hard time finding them not because of payment but because it seems that many women are to self-conscious to pose nude. It's either because they say they're to fat, ugly, small chested, etc. B&W photography and PS can make a world of difference, regardless of what you look like.

And what is the market rate for models posing nude? I have no problem with that. Thanks.

Just learn to illustrate and you don't need models...

Seriously though, wouldn't it more sense and be less time consuming to use skils to ensure the images you take are flattering to begin with rather then to change them later in PS? Doing nude in Singapore means you're doing it indoors, therefore you have control of the light and ultimately what is recorded on the sensor. Unfortunately the digital age has created lazy button pressers that don't understand the most fundamental aspect of photography - LIGHT.

I don't like using PS at all but it's funny when I meet a woman who may be interested in doing a nude shoot and they then ask if you can PS their fat, make them look thinner, bigger chest etc. I have been approached by women here asking if I can shoot nudes but it always seems that they cancel at the last minute...with the most common reason being is that they feel fat. That is the only reason why I brought up using PS. In doing nudes in the past, I've done most of them in b&w or Sepia as it has beautiful tone and feel to it. I love working with light and detest using flash and while this type of shoot may have to be done indoors, it can be done.

It would just be nice to be able to further my skills in this area while working with someone who is fun and not camera shy. The search continues....

I understand and agree with this completely. Good luck in your hunt. Maybe expand your search outside the locally based forums, to something like www.onemodelplace.com (this is just one example).

Thanks sk.images for the link and comment. Shall try that place if this forum doesn't work. I have seen plenty of posts from models here that either do TFCD or charge but it doesn't seem that any of them are willing to try nude or lingerie. I'm wondering if the culture has anything to do with it.

Yes, I did contact her. But she away on holiday till January so have to wait till then. I do find it hard to believe that out of all the models only one is willing to try nude or even lingerie. I'm guessing it's the culture and mindset that most are brought up in.
