Dear fellow photographer and bargain hunter,
Watch out there is a organization outside, advertising and selling equipment at below price, Don get caught by them.
I am already a victim my self.
Don be greedy when you see someone advertising for selling equipment at unbelievable price, I have just got caught sending money out to seller, but never see my goods, those guys out there are expert in making you to believe what they said and action, Don believe call my H/P 98569026, I can tell you in details. And right now there is another selling Nikon D700 with 12 months warranty at only $1500.00(Believe it?),
Same tactic as the first one.they will ask to pay upfront first, then they shipout the good and deliver to your doorstep in 2 days time,(all bullshit), when you made full payment, they tell you all sort reasons to pay additional monies to them in order to receive your goods. They can even make you believe your goods is on the way, even a tracking number for you to follow through some delivery agent, but in the end, YOU WILL NEVER GET TO SMELL YOUR GOOD.

Sorry to hear about your experience. You should never deal 'offline' in bns. Always meet in person so that you can test n inspect the goods physically. Then handover the cash if you are satisfied.

Btw, you might want to reveal the CS nickname if this scammer is a member?

The moment they ask you to send money via a non secured service like Western Union or Telegraphic Transfer... you should already be on your guard...

Sorry to hear of your plight. But please learn to be more careful in the future.

BTW, there is more than one organization doing these kind of scams. There are actually countless of these scammers out there. Both scam sellers and buyers.

No use , they just change name once awhile . And if im not wrong i notice that all scammer are new member .

So next time you see newly registered user selling great stuff at stupid cheap price watch out .

Secondly , even if you buy online always insist on paying by a save method . Example : Paypal or such.

Because Paypal has very strong protection policy for buyer side , and most(all?) scammer will tell you they dont accept Paypal.

But all in all just remember the old saying : :think:If its too good to be true , then its most probably not :nono:.

Take it as lesson learn and you come out wiser !

PayPal isn't 100% safe. The buyer protection only works inside Web purchase transactions. If you send as PayPal gift or donation, say bye bye to money.

But why would you send money as Paypal gift or donation in the first place ???

If it is an ad in clubsnap, as clubsnap doesn't support online payment, the person if accepting PayPal will likely ask you to send as donation or gift.

Thanks for the headsup. Nikon d700 at this price I also tempted to call.

It's funny y Pple still fall for such old tricks. When it's too good to be true, it probably is. Even if u want to send money, use paypal, at least u r protected.

Better do it COD..never believe those seller who ask to transfer money first..

Hi TS sorry if I sounded crude. You do not have my sympathy. You fall for it due to greed. It is a lesson you should have learnt from others.

i thought there has been some threads about this kind of scams before.
always insist on seeing the goods physically before handing your hard-earned cash over.

Yes, always insist to view and test goods first then COD.

Everything must be done physically.Goods have to be check thoroughly before handing over your hard earned $$$.When things sound too good to be true it probably is a scam of somekind.
Do not be lured into this kind of trap easily.Insist to meet up buyer & inspect the item fully & carefully. If the buyer rush you, there might be some unknown issue.Take your time...always.Cheers!

lol , dont understand why people will get scam in your situation. -_- even so cheap also meet offline what. we not old people , but well , hope you dont be greedy next time but i am still mad about people in situation that can be avoided so easily

How old is old people. How you knowing TS is not old people.

While your point is valid, you might want to choose your words more carefully next time. They can be quite hurtful as they seem to imply that old people are disadvantaged and that everyone here is young. Neither of which is true.

this type of scam is not new anymore.

asking u to pay first before seeing the goods is always a tell tale sign.
