Do you believe that the Smartrig+ is actually cheaper and more versatile than the mxmic?
It takes 3.5mm, 1/4" and XLR.
Get it if your camera does not have a headphone port. You can monitor via the smartrig.
This upstream method does not guarantee that the camera is recording any quality audio.
But the great thing about the Smartrig+ is the dual output.
So for absolute peace of mind, the first output can go into the camera and the second output (headphone port) can go into a H1 or a Tascam DR-10CS.
Monitor downstream via the H1. If the quality on the camera sucks, at least you've got the H1.
