Our Clubsnap Ansel (Daniel) decided to clear out his fridge as he is embarking on a long journey... so he asked me to help him to distribute these goodies to fella photographers who have been good this year.

Having worked, in a non profit organisation all these years, Daniel, being a philanthropic person decided to help the next generation of young photographers in continuing the journey of film photography.

These film are all EXPIRED... some in 2004, 2001 and some 1998... Nevertheless, knowing Daniel, who is a avid photographer who has been using film since Singapore became independent, would have stored these precious well in his dedicated film fridge. They can still be used.

There are a total of about 70 rolls, including some bulk rolled film (35mm) not in the picture and developer solution/powder (3 x Ilford ID-11 & 3 x Ilford Perceptol) & rapid fixer. No guaranty that the solution & powder work 100, Daniel told me that these items have no lifespan.

So now... the rule of the game is...

1. Anyone interested, please send me a PM and let me know which film type you want. As you can see, most of the film are 120 format. If there is an overwhelm response for the 35mm, one person might only get 1 or 2 rolls. Hence please understand... this is a good will effort by Daniel, if you don't get what you want, don't feel sore. Let me know your preference (no choosing of colour of B&W or slides):
(a) 35mm film
(b) 120 film
(c) Developer (solution)
(d) Ilford ID-11
(e) Ilford Perceptol
(f) Stop Bath
(g) Rapid Fixer

2. I will distribute all the film equally among those who PM me.

3. Will close the offer on 24 September 2008 2359hrs (Wednesday night). If there is an overwhelming response, I might close the offer early. Please watch this thread for an update.

4. This exercise is to help the young avid photographers who want to try and practice shooting/developing film. Priority will be given to students if the response if overwhelming.

5. Self collect the film/developer from my place in Tampines St 21 Blk 260 (by appointment) or Pennisular Shopping Centre on Saturday at 4pm. No other time slot available. Sorry for that.

Correspondence by PM only, please do not email or call me for this exercise.

Thank you. :)

Somemore things to add...

I have questions on whether the developer/fixer would be good for beginners to use to learn developing.

My suggestion is, if you are doing it for the first time, better not. As these are pretty old stuff, if you are learning & doing it for the first time, better to get fresh supply from Ruby as the result would be more consistent.

The developer is probably suitable for people who want to experiment with different kinds of developer and have fun getting different results/grains/.... blah blah blah....

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

students pm chiif asap !!!! ;)

Good thing to do...
Cheers

OK... After spending 3 hours sorting things out.... finally pack up the film into packs. I've done my best to be as fair as possible. If you don't get what you want, please don't scream or shout. U can trade with one another on Saturday.

Now... For those who want to avoid the F1 crowd on Saturday, you have until now till Saturday to collect the film from me, do give me a ring and let me know when you are dropping by. If it's not convenient for me, then you have to come on Saturday or give up your share. As for the rest, collection place & timing is as follow:

Venue: Pennisular Shopping Centre, Isle Cafe
Time: 4pm ~ 5pm

If you come later than that, I will distribute the remaining film to whoever is around.

Do take note that some of the film are BULK ROLLED. That means, what is shown on the film canister is not the film type. But there is a little white sticker indicating the film type (eg, TX100, TX400) Most of the film are B&W, that means, you cannot do the normal C41 processing UNLESS it is XP2. So, newbies, please take note the type of developing that you can do. If you are unsure, PLEASE ASK ME when you collect the film.

Average, each person will get 4 to 6 rolls. If you get less (4 rolls), please don't ask why.. if you get 6 rolls, please don't ask why also. If the film expire last century, please don't ask me why too. As far as I know, Daniel told me that they have been kept in the fridge, you can shoot and try and develop and see whether they can be used.

If you have indicated your choice to me but you do not get what you want, please don't ask me why also, as I have so many things to take care of, I can't possibly give each and everyone my fullest attention.

Here are the people who can collect from today till Saturday. I list the names to save myself the trouble of replying 101 PMs... So... if you are impostor, do hope that it doesn't rain or storm on Saturday, if it does, hide under shade so that you can shield away from the lightning.

If you have sent me a PM before 2359 Wed and your names are not in here, do let me know, I might have missed your PM and I will see what I can do. But I can't promise. If you are one of the person listed below and you do not want the film anymore, let me know, so that I can distribute to those who want it.
