[Rumour] New Oly PEN and lens in 2011

And next people will bitch about the price... :nono:
just get that highlander lense ... um... what lander again? voidlander?

Voightlander lenses are great. Will get one if I ever go m4/3.

Whenever I cant do something with my equipment I always ask "what would the russian do?" You see, NASA spend tons of money to make a pen that can have ink flowing upwards - gravity defying. Russians use pencil.

Erm... this is an urban myth.

If I can't do something with my equipment, I ask Uncle Google :)

May be you just need a tripod and external flash?

But maybe he wants the bokaay?

Judging from the past responses, whatever new camera model Olympus has announced, the following reaction can be reasonably expected:

(1) Happy; or
(2) Sad; or
(3) Disappointed; or
(3) Lament "Olympus is dead!"; or
(4) Whine "Olympus is not taking care of its supporters!"; or
(5) Slam "Bye bye Olympus, I'm jumping ship!"; or
(5) All of the above; or
(6) A mixture of the above; or
(7) Whatever, please add.

:sweatsm:

This same thing happens with Apple equipment. The most fanatical make predictions of what the equipment should be and when it's announced to the world, most of them are angry because it's not what they envisioned and "Apple has betrayed us". :bsmilie:

It'll be pretty amazing to see Oly push out so many lenses in such a short span of time.
My guess is that many m4/3 users will be happy to have 2-3 fast prime pancakes for a versatile, light setup that doesn't require flash since the smallest flash with bounce on m4/3 bodies is the FL-36R which looks... imbalanced :)

Looks like m4/3 is really where Oly is betting their horses on, and I hope this pays off.

the roadmap looks good. I am waiting for the wide angle pancake, likely either 24mm or 25mm. my guess is at f2.8

What's the use of 24/25mm at f2.8 when we already have 20mm/f1.7 and 17m/mf2.8? *scratch head*

effective range of 24/25mm f2.8 vs pana effective range of 40mm f1.7.
of course see there is a difference.

Cause the term used wrong I guess, he wants a 24/25mm equivalent, so when compared against the 40mm (35mm equiv) of course there is a diff

However, if you see it as a m4/3 24/25 mm and the 20mm m4/3 lens, there is no point :bsmilie:

opps..sorry. yes..i was referring to the lens roadmap, there is (hoepfully) a wide pancakge lens at ~ 12.5mm. 25mm is not a normal effective range..so I my guess is that oly would come out make it to 24mm.

panny 20mm to shot potriat, and oly 12mm to shot landscape. great combo...!!! i could not wait...

Personally, my idea lens would be 12 for wide, 17 for street,40 and 70 for portraits ;)

zuiko 12mm for landscape,
zuiko 17mm + panny 8mm for street shot, and leica 45mm for potrait.
