Rumors of a new GH5-S version

More speculations about the purported M43 STARVIS chip by Sony
http://43addict.com/2017/11/27/the-panasonic-gh5s-might-have-a-imx294-starvis-chip-inside/
Given the choice of A7S III and GH5-S, which will you pick?
The A7S /A9S will still have a 30 minute limit. The G5S likely won't.
On the other hand, the A9S will likely be able to do AF better than the G5S.
Price wise, you can expect the GH5S to be cheaper than an A7S/A9S.
Lenses for M43 are definitely smaller and cheaper than Sony's FE range.

Hmm...Really interesting that they are copying sony's naming convention wholesale.. to use a 's' suffix for their low light model. It's like accepting that as the 'standard'. What's next... GH5-R?? :bsmilie:

All fun speculation at this point. Just for fun, I tried to see how other cameras in the ISO 80-102,400 range performed. Hopefully, GH5S will fare better than the C200

Who else like me is disappointed?

Panasonic is playing a catch-up game. Not an innovation game.

The removal of IBIS and no improvement over the AF is a disappointment. I think it will not capture more market share (from Sony) but maintain its current GH5 and Panasonic users.

The market it probably take is from the users of Black Magic Ursa Mini Pro users?

Yeah I was hoping for addition of something like canon dual pixel autofocus + low light performance. Although low light performance was improved removing IBIS is a huge bummer especially when you want to use old non native adapted lenses using adapters.

Oh in case you have anamorphic lenses don't think this will be as capable as old GH5 as megapixel dropped. Its not an issue for me as I cant afford anamorphic lenses anyway.

If I want low light I can get a A7S2 with better low light with IBIS.
