Dog collars or large carabiners are easy ways to strap bags together.I've tried this method and it is easier to pull 3 bags than it is to pull one bag!
Reason is :when you tether additional bags, your hand no longer needs to support the weight of the bags. The convoy props itself up due to the multiple set of wheels. Conversely, when you are pulling only one bag, you have to prop up some of it's weight.
Think of the difference between a wheelbarrow and a supermarket cart.
