Being shooting the old Rolleiflex 2.8E Zeiss Planar and 2.8F Xenotar.

The new design looks like the Schnerider Xenotar design (no apparent difference).

Rolleiflex 2.8 FX

yeah, same stuff. I suspect the colours will just be slightly different(read different, not better) with no improvement in sharpness(cannot imagine and have yet to see anything better then the current standard). In fact, I cannot see any difference in sharpness between the 4 element xenar and the 6 element planar unless you start shooting newspapers on a wide aperture and magnify the corners. On colours, the xenar exhibits much more vibrant colours than the planar which can be easily compensated through the use of different emulsion base to getting the colour-vibrancy you want. For normal shooting, I'd usually match a warm up filter on the xenar lens on Fuji Provia 100 film. I've tried Velvia on the Xenar lens and it turned out too gaudy for my preference.

and oh, the new rolleiflexes uses seiko shutters(after F model) which I find to be harder to trigger than the good old compur shutters.

Still happy with the 2.8F Xenotar which you know. Maybe get this one for birthday present.

The best one I have now infact is the 3.5 Xenar from a Rolleiflex. More vibrant that the Planar on the 2.8E for sure.

Seems that China Shanghai has more people shooting with the 2.8 FX Apogon.

How much is one? (though I suspect its going to be beyond me... ) :)
Is it avaliable in SGP?

Should be around US$5000 range. Much cheaper than the Hasselblad D cam. :D

For that amount of money, top up a nit and get the aurum - TLR holy grail....

Long time no Rolleiflex TLR street photography.

Intend to bring out the Xenotar 2.8F for China Town.

You can bring your Kim Kim Rolleiflex 2.8 GX to make the Ah Peh LAO NUA.

I think I wait for the day Pentax 645D lowers down to ~$8-9K (if ever) :D
