Anybody could enlight me how to use this compact RF? Understand that there is selenium lightmeter inside the VF that can tell us the ratio of aperture and shutter used (1/30 -1/1650) if set in A mode... (am I right?) Dun understand the other setting (B) that gives me GN numbers... how it is applied in pics taking? In the hotshoe there are 3 points contact... is it for automated flash? What kind of flash that is convenient for this baby? Tried it with my Metz 36C2, it fired... but how to calculate with the this cam setting hor?
Been using digital cam all the time... :embrass:
Thank you for you kind attention.

the meter is not selenium. it is CDS. the GN is a flash Guide Number. the cam uses flashmatic system. roli may have made a matching flash for this but any flash will do.
it is not true that flash is 3 point contact. they are just rivets holding down the hotshoe.
the hot shoe is a simple normal one.

thanks a lot bro... at last... somebody replied... all the data stated in my thread are from 'googling'... :) at least I tried to search first before I ask... but I need 1st hand info from somebody that ever used it... any body care to enlight me? Thanks a lot :)

Sorry for the late reply. I used this camera quite a while ago and has not been using it. Just digged out from the dry cabinet.

OK. If u look carefully, the markings below the lens are A, B, LZ and GN.

A: automatic program mode, the camera selects a combination of f-stop and shuttle speed based on the lighting condition and the set ASA. U have no control over the program mode.

B: mechanically control bulb mode for long exposure.

LZ/GN: stands for flash guide number. The GN row of numbers are in feet and the LN row in meters. When u set the guide number according to the flash u use, the camera selects the corresponding f-stop based on the distance u select. The bad thing about this arrangement is that your flash will be always firing at max power, unless you can select the power output and change the GN/LZ setting accordingly.

Interestingly the corresponding Voigtlander model they use a different flash mode compared to this one and actually I prefer the Voigtlander version.

Forget to add, in the flash mode, the aperture is selected mechanically. However u need to be careful and gentle to the focusing ring as the distance travel is automatically limited based on the guide number u set to the flash operating distance (quite smart, right). Do not therefore turn the focusing ring by force.

Thanks fuwen.. this is really complete! :) Now can start to play with it (which already) :p
Is that true that this cam focusing range is limited to certain distance... I tried to focus something quite far - more than 10 m I guess... and the center part of the VF refuse to focus... Will the resul be OOF? Really grateful for your guidance... :)

And tomorrow we'll be performing... Die Schöpfung... will u be there? Or... u are already there, but we never bumps each other on the rehearsal? :)

The range finder should be able to focus at infinity. It is likely that your range finder is out of alignment and need some adjustment by the repair shop.
