Ridiculous PD170 prices at Sim Lim

Hi guys..

I'm fuming mad...

I was quoted $4450 for a PD170 at one shop, while at the shop next to it, I was quoted $3400. Then another quoted me $2500. Which one should I trust?

This doesn't help that I had a friend who bought it for $2000 flat. Maybe they see my ang moh face...lol....

Anyone here know a reasonable amount that I should be paying for this 4 year old vid cam, or any "equivalent" alternatives? I love the colours, low noise and the way it operates and thats why I'm fixed on getting it.

Dont buy from Sim Lim Square. Most of them shops are cheater shops aka carrot choppers.

I.e Song Brothers, Cybermind etc etc

hmm i called for a gebiz tender recently and it was 4000 odd.the dvx was around 3800 inclusive of 2 extra batteries.

You could have a look at the Consumer Corner, there is a list of shops for photographic equipment. Basically, stay away from Sim Lim. As you can see from the quotes you can't trust these people. Once you would come closer to get a deal all funny nonsense will pop up. Wasted time.

The lower priced one is possibly new, but once they hang on to your credit card, they will sell the accessories (which is part of the original package) back to you piece by piece at an inflated price.
