Hi, i'm sure everyone but me knows this but what are the key features between the 2? I'm getting quite sick of carrying my leica out sometimes. Too heavy (getting lazier by the day!)

Can only remember these:

Ricoh GR1 28mm/f2.8. It has aperture priority and program mode, ±2 stops exposure compensation, autofocus lock, self-timer delay, long time exposure.
Ricoh GR1s 28mm/f2.8. The GR1s has all of the functionality on the GR1 and adds LCD backlight and a detachable lens shade.
Ricoh GR1v 28mm/f2.8. In additional to all of GR1s features, it also includes manual ISO setting, easier manual focus, ±0.5EV bracketing, facility for 30.5mm filters.
Ricoh GR21 21mm/f3.5. Introduced in 2001. Identical to the GR1v except that it has a 21mm f/3.5 GR lens. It also includes a PC socket for external flash and a socket for electronic shutter release. The GR21 is bigger than the GR1, being ½cm taller and the lens doesn't retract entirely into the body.

u got lobang to buy this? :D

Maybe you can try to post a WTB in BnS. Don't think they are available in the retail shops anymore.

hehe i just did :D

dont see any for sale....even ebay only got 1 or 2 results only. oh well..i'm out for a good bargain only. so if u guys see any...please let me know also

just wondering...has any GR film users....tried shooting infrared film with it?

The GR21, GR1, GR1s and GR1v are almost never a 'bargain'. You might have better luck getting an affordable (comparatively speaking, of course) GR10 instead.

The original Yashica T with the CZ Tessar T* 35 mm F3.5 lens is a gem you can also consider.

I never leave home ( travel/holidays ) without my GR1v. This is my best pocket camera that I enjoyed, works like a professional camera, its so small , people do not get intimidated by this camera and produced tack sharp images.Very few owners will want to sell this camera.

Out of the 4, the GR1s is probably the most commonly found. Market price for one in EX or better condition would be approx $450. I've got an extra one for sale if anyone is interested, drop me an email (use link below, no PM please).

thanks guys. I'm only familiar with the GR21 after having had one for a while before losing it. I'm looking for one and also considering a GR1v i guess, alternatively maybe a contax T3

Heard good things about the T3 too. Use to use a T2 and am very happy with the lens quality. Alas, the GR1v still beats the T2 in customisability, not sure if the T3 is better. Alternatively, maybe the Ti 35 or Ti28 might be good choices also?

wait at ebay.

i got mine for around 250sgd include shipping. not mint condition though.

diff between gr1s and gr1v is just the manual ISO setting.

great camera to carry around. :)

gr1 family uses passive focusing, so might be a bit harder to focus if you are not used to it.

Szekiat, did you ever find that elusive GR1v?

I'm into a compact collecting phase these days and yet to score a GR1v at a reasonable price.

never got that gr. i got a CM at 400sgd instead

You got a Leica CM at SGD400?!?!?!?

Wah, that's an even better deal!

yeah. There was a camera fair a few mths back over here and they had some rather good deals if one looked hard enough. I'm still looking for a gr21 though. I miss that one.
