Just want to confirm this.

Went down to RGB near bugis over the weekend and was told that their 4R digital print is 80 cents per piece.

Told them that I have 100 prints and the lady told me that she will give me a 30% discount. Still 56 cents per piece. Then came the borders. Wanted those white borders and it will cost an additional 5 cents. 61 cents for a 4R print with border?

Is this right?

Went to konata instead and the results sucked...

I was told that RGB can print very good quality photos and do scanning as well.

Of course their price is very steep, unless you are regular there very often.

RGB is only "cheap" for doing slides. Everything else is very expensive. Especially digital. For $0.50, you can go Colour Lab and do great digital prints. White Border at no additional charge for digital.

Where is color lab located ? I had an experience with Konota. They not really fantastic leh in terms of prints....! 50 cents per piece not exactly something to rave about.

Colour Lab is in 1st level of Adelphi, just diagonally across the road from Peninsula, opposite Funan centre.

Try Fotohub at OUB Centre Raffles Place. $0.50 per piece

Hi,

It actually depends on your preferences. Some of us like to see the prints to have a slight yellow, blue, green, magenta and etc colours. You should try some more labs and do more test.

If you think Konota sucks, well i can tell you some photographers love it. If there are other recommendation to other labs like Colour Lab, Standard Photo and etc go and try. You may or may not like it.

Although you maybe spending more money but in the long run the printers will know what you want and adjust accordingly to your needs. Which will save you a hassle on hopping to one lab after another.

I have always been printing my digi prints and slides in RGB but not my colour negs. I will go to another lab which i am comfortable with. Different labs in Singapore have totally different settings. Chemicals, temperature and paper quality is never perfect. You can try out every lab and every lab will give you a different colour tints.

I have hand printed colour prints. (just like a black and white print in the darkroom)When I decided to print the same copy few days later with the same settings and same enlarger, the colour has already change.

If a lab can give you a very good results, stick to it until you find a better one.

Thank you.

Thanks for the post/ encouragement.

Guess I will do what you said and try more labs till I find one I like!
