Hi All, as part of our education, I've managed to beg (grovel) portrait guru sim4nee to kindly teach us the in&outs of shooting models in a studio environment with an RF (as he did recently)!
Basically a "how to session". Some details:
1. 10 photographers to 1 model with a morning session and an afternoon session
2. date to be determined subject to interest but likely end April/early May 2010
3. Lessons, tips and tricks studio work by sim4nee
4. cash & carry people - the model does have to eat....
Those who are interested please either drop me an email or sign up in this thread, I will then arrange a suitable date for all

I have seen Sim4Nee's work on his blog site and I think one of the most difficult aspect are:
* Studio lighting
* Outdoor portrait.
I am keen on any of which.
I must qualify that I will be out of town on the 26th to 29th to some 3rd world country that is somewhat hostile enough for me to buy double the normal travel insurance. So pretty please with lots of sugar on top, make this this weekend or in May

Hello fellow RFers, Vincent (our posterboy 
) and I have taken the initiative to organise another outing this Sunday. We are heading to Wessex Village or otherwise known as Portsdown Road! This area provides an escape from the hustles & bustles of the city and you will see many colonial housing and even an eatery that has been operating since the days of the British. We will also check out a railway track in the area. Here are some details as below.
Date: 18 April 2010
Time: 3.30pm
Meeting Place: Colbar (9A Whitchurch Road, Wessex Estate, Singapore 138839)
How to get there:
- If you are driving along AYE towards CTE/ECP, exit 7B Portsdown Road. Drive along the road and go pass Temasek Club (on your right). Witchurch road will be on your right. Park along the road.
- If you are driving along AYE towards Jurong/Tuas, exit 7A Normanton Park and turn right. Go straight and exit at the first exit and you would be on Jalan Hang Jebat. Turn right into Portsdown Road and drive along the road and go pass Temasek Club (on your right). Witchurch road will be on your right. Park along the road.
- If you are traveling by public transport, you can take the MRT to Buona Vista MRT and cross the road towards MOE HQ. Take bus 191 and alight before Whitchurch Road. DO NOTE that bus 191 is special and has fixed timings. (see below)

Clark Quay is another tried-and-true location to consider for future shoots, we could start at Central Mall (not the Mall) but the courtyard at Magazine road, there are several interesting 1930s buildings with nice louvers, then walk via the overhead bridge to Brewerks building, snap panoramic photos from the 3rd Floor, then proceed through the bridge to and then to the visitor quay side rides, after that we can decide to have a beer or just an ice-cream.
