Unmediated Moments Unchanging Asia
As the globalized, technology driven world is changing Asia at an unprecedented rate, millions of Asians continue to live and work in traditional and informal economies & markets, that remain unchanged by globalization.

This is the Asia I wish to present. I photograph these realities as I find them, without mediation of any kind.

Exhibition available at the Leica Store @ Raffles Hotel Arcade, #01-18, 328 North Bridge Road

Hello everyone,

Thorsten is coming again in November, and still doing a favour for a friend here. In case you're interested or if you wanted to go but missed the last one, he's coming again in November this year.

Ask anyone who's ever been, it's a great experience and great fun.

edit: Thorsten has just told me that there will also be an exhibition at the Leica store at the Raffles Arcade while he's here in November, whether it will be like the one he had in Austria is anyone's guess. I do know though that they will be exhibiting his M9. ;)

FYI - together with the workshop, Thorsten will also have an exhibition at the Leica Gallery from 28/11 - 20/12 entitled, "I AM HERE".

5 weekly sessions of 45-60 minutes each, that's GBP 60 per session... its not that bad really though with that, you could use a few tonnes of bintang beer! ;)

Assuming 1 Roll of film a day. This works outs to about 365 rolls of film in a year.

Dividing 365 by 25 rolls of 24 exposures (or 100 ft bulk), this works out to about 14 cans of 100 ft film.

So 300 GBP is about 480 usd. If I were to use that money to buy 14 cans of

Kentmere 400 film at 30 usd each from B&H, i still have left overs for shipping.

One year of forced shooting a roll a day will make a Street Photographer out of you :)

Haha, cool raytoei... Of course, you could also get lots of worthy SP books with this amount!

Anyway, I'm just helping a ex-colleague spread the word if anyone is keen at all :)

I'll say that his idea of Skype as medium of instruction is quite novel, and represents a good middle ground between the typical 'distance learning via email' approach on the one hand, and on the other hand, the face to face workshop.

If Mr Kirk publishes a coffee table book i'll buy though
