Hi all,

Im asking here if anyone has any experience renting a studio and how much it cost you and what the rental provides ? (e.g. light stands, studio strobes etc)

I need to rent a studio soon and not sure where to start looking. Or if this thread has been posted before, can anyone kindly point me to the thread? I can't seem to find the info im looking for, sadly.

Most studio rentals will come with lights and various colour backdrop paper.
Different studios have different types of lights and may have different policies of how many lights are available for use during your rental.
The other point to consider is the size of the studio ... depending on what you are shooting and what is the space required.

There are many studios available for rent in Singapore and I think if you do a search on CS, you should be able to find a few studio rental owners.

Do check with them on their rates, minimum bookings, lights available, backdrops available and size of the shooting area. Then you can make your final decision.

When I last looked a few months back (for a budget conscious client), rates for the more basic studios started from $35/hr (off-peak, IIRC), usually minimum of 2-4 hours. E.g., Weekday may be 2-hr minimum during off-peak hrs, weekend may have a 4-hr minimum block. They all do things a little differently.

Most of them will have pretty detailed info with a list of what you can expect (lights, modifiers, furnishing, props if any, whether there is attached changing/makeup room, etc) on their websites.
Just spend some time browsing, shortlist 2-3, then make a visit in person to check out the place.
