Red Dot on Leica Lens

Just a note for all leica lens owners. Got my new 50mmlux form hong kong last week.

2 days ago discovered the Red dot on the lens was missing. Couldn't find it anywhere...

Went to schmidt and paid $15 for the red dot.... hehe

So just check the small red dot from time to time.

Thats an expensive pimple..$15.. counldnt schdimt replace it for free? i got a new lens lately fm Spore AD, didnt try it until 2 weeks later, only realized it was kinda faulty, (aperture ring clicks funny at f16), schmidt got it replaced for me, with their latest batch.. :thumbsup:good service..

Bro, what lens is that? It's not 50 lux asph right? Anyway, Benny u should actually demand Schdmit replace for free. It should have international warranty right?

My red dot also dropped from one of my R lenses.

the red sphere also recently dislodged from my 35mm. luckily i found it in my bag. Question: what do you use to stick it back?

I have a 0.95 Nocti. New. The red dot fell off even before i removed plastic wrapping. No big deal as long as glass is good.

Super glue needed ? :think: The importance of the red dot, or "bead" in my book, as well as its size is underestimated, IMHO. I want to stick a big red or orange bead over the tiny blue bead of my Zeiss ZM lens, it's easier to see and feel especially when changing lenses in dim light while on the go shooting in the streets.

use lock-tite ... super glue will leave vapour (white trace) around your lens barrel.

It's a big deal for me :bigeyes: a SGD 15k lens should be perfect in every way.:think:

Hmmm need to monitor carefully the blue dots on my ZM lenses then. To me the dot make lens mounting on the body so much more faster .......

well yes.. it matters but the lens is so hard to come by, that between perfect glass and fallen red-dot, i can live with red-dot. the Nocti is amazing ... M9 is amazing .. i have fallen in love again.........
