Recommendations for cheap and good external mic for 550D

I'm looking for an affordable external mic to block out noise when shooting using my 550d. Anyone has any good recommendations? I'm a little tight on the budget though. :embrass:

Best value for money would be Rode Videomic which goes for S$190 @ cathay photo. I use it myself

recently bought 1 rode vidmic @ $160 simlim lvl 6

I was at Simllim lvl 6, and they insisted on $190

i THINK after this episode, I an NEVER going there again.
