recommendation for studios- why was my thread removed?

as above. i posted one a few days ago and it was removed for no apparent reason - i wasn't even informed (nor given any warning) until i checked my subscribed threads.

I was merely asking for recommendations from fellow photographers/owners and posted in the right subforum (general photog chat). Please advise what i did wrong.

this is general Tech Talk.

if you want recommendations for studios, this is the wrong sub-forum. this is for technical talk on gears, not general photography chit chat.

if you want to chit chat, it's in Kopitiam.

if you want to find out more as a newbie, it's Newbies Corner.

and although i didn't read it, i'm sure it contained something that contravenes the forum regulations that the Mods decided to remove it.

Hi,

I was sure about my repost, because I read the description before posting in the subforum. Here it is : Share tips & tricks, techniques, general photography chat.

Now even my repost has been shifted to another subforum (within hours?) without explanation/warning or whatsoever. If it's spam, I can understand. but legit posts? I am honestly quite disappointed by how the mods function here.

First thing first; Admins and moderators delete, move, or edit any postings/threads need not seek consent from the poster/thread starter.

and I found your thread, your thread was posted in the wrong section,
you are seeking feedbacks from members who rented studio, it should be posted in Consumers Corner
Want to find out or give info on where, how much, how good, what to buy? Here is where you should be.

I have undelete your thread and move it to Consumers Corner

as for your this thread, you are asking feedback on forum matters, here is it suppose to be, I do not understand why you are disappointed when the moderators doing their jobs correctly?

Hi catchlights,

first of all, I appreciate that you've helped me to move my thread back to the correct subforum.

Please allow me to explain - while such clauses have a catch-all function (like all law clauses do), they don't function well if not put into context.

In this situation, if a moderator deletes the thread without consent (this is fine to me) AND does not tell the 'offender' what went wrong (this is the part that I'm disappointed with), how is this policy going to prevent people from repeating their mistakes?

In my case, I would never know what went wrong, until you told me that Consumers Corner is more appropriate rather than general tech talk which comprises general photography chat as well.

I'm not trying to create trouble here, but just clarifying that deleting and not explaining why would be detrimental to the forum. Thanks.
