I'm looking for a backpack. Similar to the Deuter Trans Alpine 30L bag. For use as a camera bag and as a normal backpack in other days. Any recommendations?

Lowepro Orion? Think meng is trying to sell one... MAybe you can PM him and check?

Here's the specs for the bag...

Most backpack for cameras arn't really suitable to use for daily purpse as you wouldn't want dirts and other stuffs being leave inside your bag when used in other purpose....

Hope this helps....

:D

Lowepro Rover Light.

The bottom half functions as a Camera compartment with padding and such, the top half can store other items.

If only want to use it as a backpack only, can remove the paddings at the bottom half and the bag becomes a "normal" backpack.

Able to carry a tripod too.

Orion AW also not bad, but it does not have the waist belt with Sliplock loops to attach additional pouches or lens case, it does however have a All-Weather cover to protect against rain and dust.

Heard Rover AW is discontiuned if not it's also another good choice.

any idea how much the bags are?

rover series has been discontinued for very long. if i'm not wrong.

why not get backpacks like cerrotorre/dueter/vaude/lafuma/lowepro alphine/eaglescreek/

they are bigger backpacks 40L and above and just use a toploader+lens casing dump it in?

Got lots of extra space for other stuffs u wanna squeezze into the bag.
