I must say the Russians rock!

It's an additional piece of software that can be loaded in the camera. It provides Raw recording, Live histograms, Scripting and even games (Reversi and 仓库番)...

Someone wrote a special raw-to-DNG program I think. DNG can be processed in ACR for sure. It's also linked to in the wiki.
DPP... unlikely.

Apparently the ADC in those cameras are only 10bits, or at least the RAW they extract is. A bit more head room to work with but don't expect too much.

The live histogram looks very cool by the way.

I don't have any of those at the moment but according to the wiki, the program is an add-on residing on the SD card, and is selectively loaded without modifying the original firmware.

Hi had install the new add-on firmware . Everything work fine . now I got battery indicator on my S3 . as for raw and the rest had not yet tried .

You need to unzip the file, place it into the root folder of your SD card. Then switch on your camera and go to Menu > Firmware Update.

That should do it.. good luck ;)

when the camera is in <alt> mode, does it mean that the other camera buttons are disabled? I find that entering the <alt> menu is quite troublesome and slow process. I think I only fancy the raw picture. need to check the quality of the raws though.

Anyway, these are the steps that you need to do.
1. unzip the files and load it into the SD card via a card reader.
2. With the camera off, switch the camera to "Play" mode. Press menu and scroll to the last option, update firmware.
3. Switch the camera to picture taking mode, press the direct print button. The camera is switch to <alt> mode.

Tried taking a few pictures so far, but no raw files. Did I do anything wrong? Did everyone else who tried get the raw file?
