Hi all, I was reading the FAQs on Chii Fei's website about rangefinder and noticed that it states that 28mm lens can be used with the R2a if the entire viewfinder is used as an estimation.

What I'm curious to know is how close is the R2a's finder to 28mm.

I'm currently looking for a rangefinder with VF which can do wide(-ish) lenses as well as normal lenses. Zeiss is way out of my price range and I read that 50mm is very difficult to use on R4a. So far the only rangefinder I have found that has what I need is the Minolta CLE. If the R2a can be used with 28mm without external finder, it'd be really good news for me.

I would greatly appreciate any advice that I can get. Thanks

You can roughly gauge the FOV of the 28mm if you shoot with it many times.

anybody here used it often enough to describe it to me? I'm a pretty new to RF, so any advice would be greatly appreciated

Do u also own a SLR? Just fix a 28mm lens or a zoom with 28mm setting and do a comparison with R2A. U can use the entire finder of R2A, but u will need to figure out how should u place your eye, as that may allows u to see more or less.

icic, so it really depends on how much time i spend using an R2a with 28mm to figure out how to use the finder as an estimation. Thanks :)

Another question, how does the Minolta CLE compare to the R2a? Feel- and shooting-wise. Does it work smoothly with other M mount lenses. CLE owners, please feel free to chip in
