i went to ther webby and came across this sentence "Compensating developers include Microphen, TMax, and any other developers which are specifically formulated for push processing ".. wat does it mean? it means only specific developers can only use for compensating , and others not?

It means that these Dev can obtain the maximum film speed with films that can be push processed. A speed increase can be achieved with many films with the microphen and meter settings up to EI 3200/36 can be used with Ilford HP-5 Plus film.

In general, if you push one stop, add 25% total developing time to the process. If you pull, shorten the process by 25% per stop..
