Hi guys, I am new to Medium Format shooting and had recently just run a few rolls on my new camera, I had scanned my films yesterday with a epson v600 and there are purple lines on the images. The negatives are good so I conclude there might be something wrong with the scanner settings..

Here are some images with the lines

The vertical lines are around the centre of the picture. I had scanned with various settings like, 12-bit color, 24-bit color, 3200 dpi etc

Please ignore the blur image.... my hands not strong enough...

Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance

Anyone?:dunno:

Not an expert but either your scanner is a goner or more probably your Computer System is barely coping with scanning.

Perhaps, try to close all your other applications - go to task manager (ctrl-alt-del -> taskmgr) and set priority to realtime for the scanning process. Please test and see if it helps. I'm assuming you're using windows and not Mac OS or something.

From the photos I suspect the problem may lie in the scanner.

Your photos looks a bit dusty, have you turn on the Digital ICE or dust remover? Have you enabled the colour enhancement settings?

Hi, thanks for the tip, will try it asap! Regarding the scanner, I dont think it's faulty, had scanned 35mm negatives without any problem at all... thanks!

I used dust remover but not the Digital ICE.. I didn't set the colour enhancement settings :dunno:

U may try different programs such as vuescan, epson software to see if the results are the same.

I'm not sure with epson scan but in vuescan, try "calibrate" feature before scanning.

If your scan is in vertical direction, then this is the ccd or cmos problem. (uneven output voltage/current)

Try downloading the latest driver, if still cannot, bring it to the service center ...

when using the film adaptors, there is a window for the calibration of the scanner ccd.

That area might be dirty causing the streaks. Try cleaning it of dust and what not first.
