Hi All Bros and Sis,

I am Chris, secretary and committee representative of Pleco Club (Singapore), it is an aquatic hobbiest non-profit organisation catered to Pleco Community in Singapore.

We need help in fine-tuning a small/poor resolution logo into something that fits resolutions/size suitable for
  • 6 ft (72") printings
  • .psd or .tiff format
  • 300 Dpi resolution
  • CMYK format
  • Delivery by Early Feb 2007 (Most prob delivered in DVD disc)
Being a new startup non-profit organisation, our budget is low ... fine details will be elaborated upon securing ... for we could only afford small tokens of appreciation and no doubt we are looking forward to upcoming partnerships/sponsors for international events in Aquarama 2007 (http://www.aquarama.com.sg) where win-win is achieved for both entities

Individuals with interest on above mentioned, do feel free to contact me via PM for discussions ... or email chriskim@goldenlandwatch.com

P.S. This is a good opportunity for students with interested to enhance their portfolios

Cheers
Chris

Hi sorry, Its vector format ;)

What zion said is correct, having a vector logo is the way to go as you have no worries about dpi like the raster file logo. Save as EPS (ai) and you can send it to your supplier without any problem.

Using illustrator should do the job as I can see emboss effect on the fish. Freehand (MX) wise also can, but the illustrator may have a slight upperhand interms of its effects and filters function.

Appreciate all bros and sis for their input in this thread ...

Do agree that a vector image would do us better in the long run ...

Once again do keep more input coming :D

why do you need PSD or tiff format? actually, you dont need that format. or you shouldnt use those format for vector drawing. unless the graphic is draw by vector, once you change into PSD or tiff, their vector quality will drop and you will not get the very 200% smooth curve with rasterised file format.

Are you going to print with Offset or colour printer(plotter)? Printing shops should have freehand or illustrator to print directly on paper or film.

on the other side, if you want to use some effects like smooth gradiant or else. no vector can produce that kind of effect. but one thing.. Create your effect in PS and save as PNG file. And then imported into freehand or illustrator. Do the print on paper or film . you will get the best result.

that's what i know.

cheers. :-)

Do see that it'll make more sense that we have a Vector Image ... scaled to required size ... add effect on PS ... and send them to printer ...

Chances of having them on film is slim ... and likely vector images should have no problems printing with offset printers ...

To iterate myself better, requirements have been changed to following:
- .EPS or .FH file
- A4 sized
- CMYK format
- 300 DPI
- Delivery by Early Feb 2007 (Can be in www.yousendit.com if file is < 100 MB)

* We are in closing terms with an artist ... but we do welcome more individuals with interest in the above ...

Cheers
