In fact, what I normally do is to shut down the system for a couple of secs and then turn it on again. it will be ok after that ... I think the camera must be tired ...

juz switch to manual focus lor...
hmm.. I thought the difficulty in focussing is due to the smaller aperture (~2/3 stop smaller) at full tele? Less light comes through the lens and hence the AF sensor has greater difficulty in finding focus.
Mind if you tell me what setup are you using? Currrently, I am using Dynax 7 myself. It's a pretty fast camera body. Just that during low light condition ( say at dinner tables) , focusing is bit unresponsive even with my 28-70mm F2.8 lens, the focus points just seems to be out. Well, usually I just press the AF/MF button, to switch to manual, so that the focus don't go off. Or else, I will zoom in to a centre person and then zoom out to take the picture.
Normally in "P" mode ... I think the Dynax 7 and Dimage 7 is different as the the Dimage 7 does not have AF asisst. The Dynax 7 would have a short burst of the flash to help focusing.
The Dimage does not.
I will try pressing the AF/MF button to see if it would reset the system.
