As for the chemicals, there will be developer, stopper and fixer. I can use tap water for stopper as wat i (we) usually do for film developing?

And i pour the chemicals into the trays before going into the dark right?

for stop bath, juz add a teaspoon of white vinegar into the tray of water.
it is best to do a dry run of the whole process and stick to it.
i always do the following for printing,
1)set up 4 trays left to right(i'm left handed)
2)fill up stop bath, fixer and a last one with tap water
3)get ice to lower temp of developer and throw the rest of the ice in the fixer.
4)get ready the easel board and set to the size required.
5)get ready negatives and paper..
6)Action~!

It's quite easy after doing it a few times, best to set up the enlarger near all the power point for easy access.

Kex you forgot something else. Get someone to be your timer. :D

haha .. hey wats so special abt the trays? I just went to Popular to look for those paper trays, physcially it looks the same. So can i sub with those normal paper trays tat are selling at normal stores?

becoz the base of the developing tray is not flat, prints will get stuck at those normal trays and becomes hard to transfer it to the nx tray..

there is a way around though..
use the *pulley* method while developing will eliminates all problems.
best to wear gloves to protect ur fingers...prolonged contact will make ur fingernails yellowish and itchy..

U'll need the grooves of the tray to help u pick up / develop the paper

hey is it necessary to get tongs ? Can i use normal clothing clippers? But in both cases, wouldnt it will leave marks on the papers during hanging?

if you are using RC papers, can place them flat on newspapers or something to dry after wiping the water off, they dry pretty fast, at least in my case.. if youre worried about marks maybe place some cardboard where the clips come in contact with your paper so there wont be marks?

just got 16x20 trays at a gd price. now comes the qns, i understand from Ilford that a 8x10 trays requried 600ml of solutions for each tray, so if i'm using 16x20 i should be using 1200ml ? so tat means everything thing double from 8x10 lar?
