1. this is more like a test post. any feedback i will mull over it carefully.
2. am preparing for a 2 weeks jp trip in june. also to rebuild my camera arsenal after a year-long wait. now at the final stage where i can accelerate the buying back. so far i bought a 70-200L...currently left it with a friend to fully utilise it coz i still have effectively one month of NS to go. (brother, how's the pics coming? ^_^)
3. so the time has arrived for me to start scouting around for potential sellers of canon EOS gear. will appreciate any feedback .
4. because the gear (if bought) will be used in jp and anythign can happen, hence to minimise loss/damage/etc, i will prefer anything which condition is as beaten-up as possible. that means...mint or well maintained items are kinda out. but pls note that the gear still have to be fully functional without any technical malfunctions whatsoever =)
5 ok here goes:
scouting around for any beaten-up
(i) EOS 1n or EOS 3 .
[as for EOS 1v...out of budget unless anyone offers one set at a vvvvvgd price =) ]
(ii)either powerbooster E1 or E2. not the battery pack
(iii)either EF 28-70mm/f2.8 USM L or EF 28-80mm/f2.8-4 USM L.
[ if these 2 lenses are kinda scarce.....then i may consider the EF 28-135mm/f3.5-5.6 USM IS. initially was intending to get the EF 17-40mm/f4 USM L but...not that much a user of anything wider than 28mm. nevertheless if anyone has one that is beaten-up...i may also reconsider getting it. also will not consider the 24-70L. coz i still got to pay for the air ticket ;-) ]
(iv) flash...mostlikely i will just get any old 540EZ lying around @peninsular plaza. not too meticulous about flash quality =)
(v) 77mm circular polariser.
[well if i get the 28-80L then will have to get a 72mm polariser.]
...thats it for the moment. anyone with the items mention meeting the criteria (beaten-up)and potentially willing to let go of it pls pm me. i will consider it seriously...judging fromthe time of this post..by the time the/any offers come, it will coincide with the day i clear leave and start shooting again. then i also need to start transfering funds now..arg. tedious. anyway, after all, jp is my dream trip...who knows what if i bump into MAX or KIRORO on the streets n get their autographs... ^_^
