hi everyone! i went to a photolab near my house to develop prints from a 35mm slide film. The lady asked if I want it to be developed into 4R sizes, so i told her yes. After that, she didn't ask me anything else. But when I went to collect the pictures yesterday, they are all mounted and I was wondering if there's any way I can get the prints from the mounted slides? Please help, thank you very much! :)

this is how it looks now:

Yes you can :)
Next time, tell them you want them unmounted (cheaper) and easier to store too.

oh okay! because i went back to the photolab today but the lady told that it can be done however it's $2/print. So I have 36mounted slides, which will cost me $72  any places that they develop the prints cheaper? :\

The price is high due to the scanning involved. Imagine you would have to scan individual shots! Its very time consuming.

In future, you might want to do this -
tell developer to Develop & Scan to CD, not mounted.
this gives you a low res digital copy that you can work with.

Prints from slides cost a little more than regular negatives.
$2 if i am not wrong, is the market rate.
If you can, dont print them all!

If you wan prints, then i suggest you just shoot from negatives, and not colour slides.

oh alright then, i guess i'll just leave it the way it is or i'll just find some good shots to print. thank you very much for your help, appreciate it alot! :)

If I remember correctly, FotoHub charges about $1.20 (before GST) for a 4R print from slides. You may want to check with Ruby too.

I'm doubt you still able to find people making print direct from slide for you, since the cost of chemical and paper for positive printing is so high and the demand is so low nowadays.

anyway if you send a positive or negative to lab, they will scan into digital first and make print from it, cost is the same, however, since your positive film already mounted, so the charge of scanning is PER Piece, $2 is rather standard for a 35mm slide scan.

Next time when you send color positive for processing, just tell them process and scan into CD, no mounting.

Since slide projector is like dinosaur, light box for slide viewing also hard to get, just keep them in digital form is the best, beside, cost of making print will be the same and you can print anyway you like.
