Portable lighting to use to film in a club (dark areas)

Hey guys

I'm filming for my upcoming project and it is a dance-based music video, but I have to film it in a club in Singapore.. I wonder if there is any lighting that can help me since it would be very dark and the only few lights are the disco lights..

P.S: I'm a videography newbie, so my knowledge on lighting is minimum.

Thanks!

What camera are you using? What's the treatment? You can choose to light just your dancers and let the disco lights go crazy or you would re-setup the lights to how you want them to work for you.

For a nightclub feel with deep black background, use snoots and eggcrates to prevent light from spilling onto the background. A strong kicker will be needed if your talent has black hair/clothing. May be a good idea to rent a focusable spotlight/sun-gun as a roving rim light and get a gaffer to keep aim if there's a lot of movement.

I'm using a Canon 600D for the video shoot, with its default lens. I'll go check it out, but I'll prefer one which is portable and cheap.. Something that can be attached to my camera instead of having to be powered by a power plug.. :)
