I heard the noise too when I first started using this lens on my EPL-3, but it seems to have gone away after awhile. Anyway it's not really an issue for me. May get a Panasonic body sooner or later anyway :bsmilie:

The rattling from the aperture blades are extremely annoying and disturbing. . .

As earlier, i do not even need to half press the shutter or any buttons to get the aperture blades moving! Its automatic. . . .

Anyone any experience on this?

Yes, its a common thing with PEN bodies. U'll just have to learn to live with it. For the superb image quality, awesome bokeh and f/1.4, i just mentally filter out the clicks. TBH, its not really that bad, unless u are in a quiet environment.

Hi there, i note that there is a rattling sound. . . but not when the camera is idling? The rattling sound is there even when i do not press any buttons?? *Faintz*

Yes the sound is there as long as your camera is turned on, as the sensor is actively picking up information for the live view.

I use GX1, still have sound, look into the len and see the blade open & close. but if pointed at darker place is become very slient. Only when try to point at bright object it start to "blink"

What shooting mode are you in (P, A, S, M) when the "blinking" occurs? Does the lens "blink" even when stopped down (e.g. to f/8) in A or M mode?

Absolutely silent with Olympus OMD.... a sharp contrast with the Olympus EPL1!!!

i find that this rattling where the aperture blades open/shut quickly happens only in certain fluorescent lighting.

i experienced it once at the walkway/corridor on the second floor of funan. exact location should be outside the perfume store very near to TK where there is some benches/seats. i just experienced it again at my neighbourhood barber shop recently.

i have tried OMD with lumix 25mm in day light, low light and all conditions. So far no rattling sound at all. Only when camera focus is locked, I can hear just once "tick" sound sometimes.

body firmware 1.1
lens 1.0

My "Dark Knight" OMD have no problem with 25mm F1.4. No rattling or chatter noise. Me puzzled.

bro, try tilt the camera downwards about 30 degrees and shoot. I notice I hear "tick" sometimes when the camera tilt downwards and focus.

yes bro, i don't know if its only my lens

Hi again,
After testing my 25mm f1.4,you are right. When I was bending downward to take picture, got soft noise. But almost 99% of my time using this lens, no noise. This lens really is sharper and produces stunning IQ. Now it is attached with my omd all the time. Good focal length for taking almost subjects within ideal distance. Bokeh? Awesomely beautiful.
