All should read the article in ST today, this is really unethical. Thanks goodness someone found out and complaint to Canon about this. There're more than 1 shop selling genuinely looking fakes here in Singapore. As stated in the report, it is no joke when the camera explode in your face. They should be fine heavily!!

Actually according to the article the main culprit is Alex Photo. Prima photo claims it took stocks from Alex Photo and is allegedly feigning innocence that it did not know the batteries were fake. The owner of Alex Photo on the other hand has confessed to ST in a post-raid interview.

Prima is the one opposite Alex or beside? I know Alex is 2nd hand shop though. There's one shop beside Alex and Cathay that was recently renovated and selling grey goods.

Same quality but legal in Singapore even though they aren't licensed.

Yeah the one beside was mainly a 2nd hand shop, but after renovation they still sell a bit of 2nd hand, but majority become grey goods liao.

If you have bought a Canon battery recently in Singapore, or especially from Alex Photo and Prima Camera in Peninsula Plaza, too bad, it may be a good fake! Fake battery may blow up while in use and imagine how it will damage your face and eyes. Bring to CSC to confirm yr battery.
