Hi,

I hope I'm asking this question in the right section as it is pertaining to polaroid camera.

I'm looking for a shop or any kind soul who knows of another kind soul who is selling a Polaroid 110a/b which has been converted to take film packs (fuji Fp). It is rather difficult to find one here in Singapore. Thank you :)

I have one which is a mutant. It's a 110b body with a 110a lens that has been converted to take FP films. I bought it from a guy called Johnson (which I suspect could be from Peek! [www.peek-ture.com]).

Hmmm.. I thought the 110a and 110b uses the same lens?

Anyway will try to check with the Peek! people. Thanks!

Apparently not. I researched and a couple of websites stated that the 110a lens is better.

Hmm if I'm not wrong the lens on the 110A and 110B are the same, the Rodenstock Ysarex 127mm f/4.7, the original 110 has a different lens, the Wollensak Raptar which is 0.2 f-stops faster. The main difference between the 110A and 110B is that the rangefinder and viewfinder are combined and you don't have to look through 2 windows for focusing and composition.

I have 2 110Bs converted for 4x5 film use but also allow for usage of a Polaroid 405 film back which uses the regular FP film. Also have a 110A that is junk and used for parts ;)

For professional conversions you can try http://www.polaroidconversions.com/packfilm/ . I recommend the 110B for ease of use.

The stock Ysarex lens is plenty sharp too. The below picture was shot at f/8.

Wow wow wee

Hmmm I thought I was the only one checking out these converted Polaroids.

Another builder is razzledog or Dean Jones. Have recently placed an order for a Razzle 900 from him :)

How much did you order from Razzle? I thought he didn't take orders for a complete camera, only conversion service. I end up ordering from Option8 plus leather change gonna cost me sgd800++ with shipping.

The Razzle 900 is more costly. About Aud$950. But his work looks much nicer and the ability to use a better large format lens is more tempting.

The cost does not stop there though. Prices for the fuji pa-145 backs are costly not to mention cost for other backs. But the results are worth it I guess for the sharp instant prints.

You can also consider Alpenhause, although it is hard to converse with him over email, I had to call him personally. I chose him as I wanted to mount the 135 Xenotar on my 110B. Both Razzle and Alpenhause sell complete cameras.

I think for conversion to do large format 4x5 are definitely more expensive. Option9 ones are going like usd1k+. Should create a thread to show our 110a/b! Lol

The alpenhause conversions seems to allow for more focal length choices. Does the rf couple with the lens?

4x5 conversion is more costly but I feel that it's more versatile with interchangeable backs compared to just a instant back conversion.

Yup the rangefinder is calibrated by him to match the lens. I mainly shoot 4x5 so shooting instant is a plus for me.

An outing with these converted cameras will be cool! Count me in!

Polaroid 110B will be better choice, with single, bright window RF. much better compare to 110A

Couldn't agree more but it's a little over my budget for a 110B. The A will do fine I believe since it's not a fast shoot camera.

Seems like I might be getting a 2nd hand converted 110B sooner than I thought.

Though the hand strap seems really beaten up. Any ideas of ways or alternative strap suitable for such a camera body?
