Hi! I would like to get some advice from all of you as I'm not knowledgeable in tripods and stuff. I do video stuff and would like to get a new tripod.. something solid and steady, and has to reach at least eye-level height. I know that Manfrotto produces pretty good tripods.. but I don't know which model is good/suitable. any other particular brands/models to recommend? which shop would you recommend i go? hmm, i was told that new pieces are very expensive, so would prefer to get 2nd-hand as i am still a student (limited budget). Anyway, what's the price range like? If you have a tripod (with head) for sale which would be able to suit my needs, or any recommendations or advice, pls let me know. thanks very much. :)

Manfrotto 190PRO B or 055PRO B. Go to Cathay Photo and test both out, buy the one u prefer.

I am using 055Pro B myself.

thanks. i think the 190 model may be a little too low height-wise.. i was kinda looking at the 055. looking around for 2nd-hand one.

For video, get a 2-way pan head can liao.

2-way as in left/right, up/down pan.

tilting side way 90 degree more for cameras to take portrait shots, not applicable to video shooting.

What is the weight of your video camera?

Try the company below. They carry the Manfrotto Video tripod line. Photographic supply shops usually only carry supports more suitable for stills.
