Pic quality difference between old and new videocam?

Hi,

Just want to ask all the experts here, is there big difference in video image quality if i buy a new budget miniDV video like those $350+ JVC, compare to those older, 4-5 yrs miniDV cam?

I'm using an old panasonic miniDV cam that's about 4-5 yrs old, but I find the image abit "soft" when view on laptop and TV. Does that mean I must get those DVD cam or hardisk cam to get better image quality? Thanks in advance.:thumbsup:

nope. DVD Cam are compressed during the recording but for minidv you can transfer footages on your pc and fine tune it before outputting.
