Hi guys,

I have an unusual request from one of my friends to search for a photographer and videographer for her grandma's wake. This is quite urgent, as I have just been informed just only, and I need to source for a photographer and videographer for tomorrow's wake. I will do it for my friend, but my work does not permit me to shoot.

Price-wise, I have to say beforehand that it will be quite budget, but I will leave the option open for interested photographers and videographers to quote on this.

Basically, there are 2 venues and transport will be provided. One is at Jurong East, followed by Mandai area. Its christian funeral, and it will be from 10am to 1pm.

Interested people, please PM me with your contact number, and portfolio if you have one, and also stating how much are you expecting for this service. If the price is reasonable, and you can make it, my friend hopes tonight's event can be captured too.

I hope to settle this whole issue by 4pm.

Thank you for your time in reading.
And no banal talks or flaming here. Thanks.

Ununsal request ..

I have covered my friend grandpa wake before once ... very emotional ... :bheart:

Did you do the service for free for your friend?

I did a full coverage for my wife's grandma, and my father in law, have to do it and can't charge.
It is a very good experience to document a special occasion like this..

Agreed .. for relatives of yours really cant charge ..

I regreted I didnt document my grandpa coverage .. I still can remember the coffin is of bread shape and heavy .. if you knows what I meant ..

for relatives, not nice to charge... Personally, I won't charge too. This is more of a friend's request. Actually, its my gf's colleague who is asking.

Hats off to you   It must be very emotional for you and your family as well. I don't think I can shoot when I see my wife and kids crying during something like this.

Anyway, to help the thread starter, it takes a lot of guts to shoot something like this. I've covered funeral wakes before, sometime you'll need to stand next to the coffin to get the shot, there are people crying all over the place, you have to be mindful of the feelings of the people around you as some of them are already crying over the loss of a loved one and may not take too kindly to someone taking their picture. For those who intent to take up this job but have not done it before, do get yourself prepared as it is not a simple job to do. As for cost, I usually try to charge lower than normal as I do not want to burden the family further. Sorry I can't help to shoot as I'm already booked for a studio shoot.

PM replied, please take as reference. There is no fast rule .. ;)

Thanks for all the reply, I have asked my Professor for permission to take a few hours off and he has granted it. Hence, photographer found. I will be doing the videographer role as well when needed.
