Anyone with experience on a software with following features?
a. create slideshow easily
b. can auto and randomise the transition effect. Able to change it 1 by 1 later.
c. can add > 1 MP3 song and synch to it automatically
d. able to create "zoom in" effect
e. can add caption and text
f. can output to DVD/VCD
g. Importantly, can read TIFF
h. ABLE to store the orig photo in the DVD
i. Not key but best if the software can read raw file?

Quite happy where I tried ProSoft but unable to create an archive of photo together with DVD output. Search the net but very little was mentioned on the ability to output original photo together with the slide show.

Any advise will be appreciated.:)

ANy NLE program can do most of that. FCP, Premiere Pro, Vegas, etc. But sync with music? You will have to manupulate the slides manually.

Try Photodex Proshow Standard or Gold

As for original photo, recommend to resize to smaller size like 800x600 to speed up the DVD slideshow process

Thanks Tommon and Megaweb for the recommendation.

Tried Premiere before but probably too complicated for me. Photodex Gold looks good to me. Seem like Photodex Producer version are able to support raw file but no detail can be found in this area from its website?? But the price difference is too much and ex anyway.

Have been busy with my work.
MemoriesOnTV - not bad and offer several interesting effects. Took a while to get use to the interface though and unable to set Timeline view as default.
Photodex - try the gold version. Feel more comfortable to navigate and usage. Lots of transition effects. Don't like their logo appearing in the 1st slide during dvd show.
Muvee - haven't try yet and look like video editing. Look quite complex than my requirement for a simple slideshow software. Will try it if have time.

If not, probably decide among the first two.

Tommon, thanks for sharing. Great panaromas shoot but feel the show moves too fast. Probably will be nicer to cut down the number of shoot (quite a lot similar one) so that user can enjoy the show better. Just my opinion.;p

Thanks for everyone's help. :D

The video resolution is much less than your jpg pictures, so you will not get the same amount of detail. You should resize the pictures to 800x600 (or similar) before making the slideshow. The final output will be very close to what you see after resizing.

If it is clear after resizing then it should be OK on the TV. But you will definitely lose some detail coming down from 1800 x 1400 to 800 x 600, it's less than a quarter of the image area.

Try to use Photoshop or similar for the resizing, because it has higher quality resampling algorithms that help to preserve as much detail as possible.

This is probably the best application for slideshows and can do everything the thread starter has asked for but if you want to handle RAW files as well, you will have to settle for Proshow Producer that costs substantially more.
