photo albums

Hi.

I'm thinking of giving my friend an album
of photos for her 21st birthday [sorry, lah -
I know this digresses from the usual
photography discussions] ...

Would it be possible to get a nice album -
"nice" as in, something along the lines of
a wedding album?

maybe not THAT elaborate ... 10 pages
of photos ... maybe about 6R?

would it be possible to drop the negatives off
at a wedding studio or shop, tell them which
prints I want ... & let them do their magic?

think i know what you are looking for..... those wedding studio type of album right? .... leather-like cover, laminated photos that fits the full page kind. simple yet classy, yes? i've also been looking but with no luck

does anyone know how/where to get your photos (about 10 - 20 pcs) nicely binded in a nice album...like those from the studios? thanks!

sits down and does those prints by
himself ...

It would be quite expensive for such album, be prepared to spend about $400~$600 for as little as 10 pages of 6R with all the nicely made cover.

Ordnin & Reda at City Link has some very nice albums. They are acid-free, so photos will not stain over time. Expensive though.

haiyo! why so expensive?
I'm not even using a pro photographer,
just want the prints to be done by them ...

scary, ah ...

looks like I'll probably do a "hand-made" one then

would've been nice to have it in wedding
album format - whole page is the print,
with a special metallic clip at the bottom
right corner so people can turn the pages ...

oh well ...

Trouble is, you can't. You just have to trust the seller. For a cheaper alternative, Colour Lab at Adelphi sells a "portfolio album" with a simple cover design, hardcover, black pages with tracing-paper-like page separators for $25, including 1 box of photo corners free.

i've made one for my portfolio presentation,
maybe if u want, oneday i could show you,
i've spent around S$100 on it... gee... but worth the feeling.
front n back was covered by aluminium sheets on arcylic board. binded by rings.
