i thought this place is ideal to ask this question since a lot of wedding videographers are here. Just trying to gauge the market size for wedding videography.

If you're a wedding photographer, what is the average percentage of weddings that you did which the couple also engage a videographer ? Example, '2 out of 10' means that out of 10 weddings you did, only 2 engage a videographer. The remaining 8 weddings did not have professional videographer.

Tried to create a poll but I do not have enough credits to do so.:dunno:

Thanks.

when you ask this question, also ask what is the average client billing for the photography services.

Normally if the photography is ultra 'affordable' total billing less than $1K, the chances of a videographer is high, either friends or videographer billing btween $600-$1200.

if the photographer average billing is about $2k, there is a 50% chance of a videographer, high chance the videographer is very amateur/friend helping or the average billing of the videographer is between $600- $1200

if the photographer average billing is more than 3.5K, normally 2 things will happen, either the videographer is very establish ($1200-$2500) or they do without a videographer.

this are my findings.

My own wedding no videographer. =)

dont really understand the above sentence..

so wat is the average budget tat wedding couples have for photography? and what budget for videography?

and think shd count those with and without Pro videographer, disgard the "amatuer home video"
:dunno:

And to clarify, I mean those pro videographer where you need to pay. Not those friend videographer where the couple just give Ang Pao $200.

And to make the statistics more interesting, would be good if you can give a range of your photography's total bill. (below $800, $800-$1200, $1200-$2000, >$2000)

total budget abt 1.2k - 3K (both video and photo).. mkt very messy:confused:
video abt 500 -1.5K depends on timing, express editing, some dont want editing, additional thing coverage, etc.

shoot for fren ang pao < $150. still need editing, copies of DvD, etc.. bo bian,, tat's wat fren are for mah.. but now i try to tell me fren to invite me attend rather to shoot.. i recommand other videographer to do the job instead,, ;p

what i meant is normally, if the couple goes for a establish and expensive photographer (more than $3k-3.5K total billing), they either do without videography or use the best videographers in the market. Seldom i see expensive photographers paired with amateur (friend) videography.

I agree wif sndazz, better to be a friends guest rather than the videographer if anything screws;) up u would hear voices from someone saying this and that

Ya... I try my best not to "work" for friends, unless they are buddies/pals. If not, no more frens if they r not satisfied with ur work.
