The unique donut ring highlight is also nice for this lens?

I just bought a K10D and also own a Sigma 600mm Mirror-Telephoto.
This thread is making me drool! From what I can tell, my Sigma should work with my 10D. But, I can't figure out how to actually mount the lens to the camera (clearly, am a novice at this). Tried lining up the red dots, but that didn't work. Am very afraid of any forcing. Any ideas?

It screws on like any other K-mounted lens. Perhaps you did not align them properly. You need to hold it by the neck because the focussing ring will move instead. PM me if you still have problems.
cheers

ar..fond memories, I had that Sigma 600 in green. Now I regret selling it

any idea where to get this lens? is it good to use birding? i really wanna have a go at it if it is suitable for birding...;p

Hmmm... is there a great difference between those super zoom lenses & these 600mm lenses...? Heh, still a noob la, cos seems just like a difference in construction, how about function?

Thanx

They're completely different in the way they create an image on the sensor.

they should be -functionally- the same, except for autofocus (very hard to find an autofocus mirror lens) and aperture size (it's f/8 vs. at worst f/6.3)

OIC :p thanx for opening my eyes on this...
